Description

Come along to meet Mark Sanders, an entrepreneur with over 20 years experience who as CEO of a fintech company, exited the business when it was sold for £200m in 2016.

Drawing on this experience, Mark has since then supported startup growth across the UK, setting up innovation hubs in London, Manchester, Nottingham in his role as chief executive of Accelerate Places (part of venture builder Blenheim Chalcot). In addition, he is playing a pivotal role in the tech scaleup scene, as executive chairman of ScaleSpace, a White City-based joint venture between Blenheim Chalcot and Imperial College London which launches this autumn.

In this fireside chat, we’ll explore how Mark got to where he is today, the journey he took to get there, plus the challenges and lessons he’s learnt along the way.

Throughout Mark’s career, he has been involved in what he describes as “innovational growth”.  A veteran of the UK financial services industries, his career included senior roles at First Direct, Lloyds TSB and Capital One.  At the last, he established its personal loan and savings business in the UK and wasVP for Service Operations across all of its European product offerings.

Mark’s support of start-up and scale up businesses has given him extensive knowledge of the scaling industry and a rich, personal insight into the challenges of growth and what he believes are the key ingredients to successful scaling.
